The Stuart History Festival!

Hear ye! Dr Erica Canela, Mark Turnbull, and I are very pleased to announce the first-ever history festival dedicated to Stuart Britain, 1603-1714! Join us for a weekend of history with incredible speakers (we will be sharing our lineup of speakers and more information in the upcoming days). I’m so excited to be a co-founder of this festival and so glad to be working with such positive, enthusiastic, and supportive people.

Where? The Old Palace, very close to Worcester Cathedral, Worcester, England.

When? July 5th & 6th, 2025.

Why? Well, the Stuart period has been overlooked for so long, combined with the fact that the many substantial contributions from talented historians have been ignored by mainstream history festivals. No more! We’ve taken matters into our own hands and are preparing a fun and informative summer history festival to focus on this exciting, tumultuous, and eventful time. Worcester is best associated with the Battle of Worcester of 1651, part of the British Civil Wars (or English Civil Wars), but there are many more connections to Stuart Britain. This is why we decided it would be the perfect place to hold this event: it is easily accessible by public transportation, and – being in a city – it has loads of hotels, restaurants, and many historic sites, museums, and more.

And so, if you love the Stuart period, you will not want to miss this event!
