A Trip to Shakespeare’s Birthplace

I recently went to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit the birthplace of my favourite writer William Shakespeare.  The building is located in very close proximity to the town centre, which boasts several good pubs and shops. Upon entering and paying the entry fee, we walked through to a dark room which had a very good video about Shakespeare and the famous films of his plays. Then, we were ushered through a lovely Elizabethan-style garden and into the house itself. Anne Hathaway’s cottage was delightful and the whole experience was extremely pleasing. If you are able to go to Stratford-upon-Avon -go! It’s amazing!

I went to Shakespeare’s house many years ago as a teenager with my Mum. I would like to go again one day. What struck me about it then and still sticks in my mind was the nice atmosphere of the house- warm and friendly.
